I’ve been adopted!

After a lengthy adjustment of living with two more cats, life is finally calmed down, well, somewhat. Callie-cat still has to stay on her cushion and Whiskey continues to like to bop her on the head. He is not satisfied until he can reach up and give her a light smack. He’s one very determined kitty. They are growing on me though and we have finally trained them (again, somewhat) not to torment her. However, after too many weeks of being bullied by them she still does not trust them and to play with her the boys have to be locked in their room. It works out though because they like to nap in the afternoon. Callie has it all figured out and waits for them to go to their room before jumping down from her safe spot. (which, by the way is on top of a table, ensconced on a cushion beside my computer desk, close to me, her body guard)

I am now greeted by the door with head bumps and the sweetest ways cats have of welcoming their humans home. Yes, they have adopted me, coming to me for head scratches and petting. I am sad Callie no longer feels safe enough to run to meet me at the door, instead she waits patiently for me to come to her. We are still adjusting but life is happier these days since I am no longer suffering the anxiety of possible cat fights, and the cats no longer seem so stressed either.
