These photos were some I took driving out of Canmore, Alberta in May of 2016. It was a beautiful day. I feel so blessed to have been able to stand and gaze at these impressive peaks in the foothills of the Rockies.

Clouds kiss the mountain tops
A little bit of snow hangs on
in higher altitudes snow stays late into spring
which makes Banff a favorite of skiers
Three humps…. a different angle
It is so awe-inspiring as we drive out of the mountains. I took this one looking back from where we’d been and where we cannot wait to go again….

Further down the highway and ponds are plentiful
Even from a distance the foothills are beautiful
Farewell to the mountains, until I can come again….

  7. This place looks breathtaking. I would love to visit one day. I love hills and the peace attached with the wonderful lush greenery around. These mountains look so magnificently huge and the snow on it gives it a out of the world feeling. I love travelling Carol and thanks for sharing these lovely photos.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, the mountains are so awe-inspiring – a spiritual gift. Banff is spectacular! If you like mountains you may also enjoy Gros Morne National Park on the West Coast of Newfoundland. Unfortunately I do not have any photos at this time, but it is a phenomenal place with many fijords and places where bays of the Atlantic Ocean meet the hills. If you’ve never been there check it out online – I am sure you’d be impressed.
