As I move through the moments of each blessed day

Let peace fill my being, every molecule and cell

Like seeds that have fallen from each plant and flower

Let me sow peace in this world

When I think I cannot turn the other cheek

Let anger be tamped down and carried away

Like chaff on a river, and let peace remain

When sorrow sits heavily on my heart and my mind

Let peace enter in, like a friend

When I am tempted to return hurt for hurt

Stay my hand, guard my tongue

Let peace descend once again

For the hours are short

Life is as fragile as china

It is but a short step to the grave

So let me not curse, nor rant or rave

No complaining or whining from me

This I ask, O Divine One, Creator

Let peace be my mantra and love be my guide

this I am asking of thee
