I took a walk along the river yesterday. It was amazing to see how quickly new green growth took hold under the trees where once there was nothing but scorched earth. In this particular section of town the wildfires were successfully fought. Although you can see evidence of the fire on blackened tree trunks, the fire obviously was not much more than a grass fire in this area. I rejoice in the presence of greenery and beauty rebounding. I know it will take much longer in other sections of town where “the beast” roared much more loudly. My eyes took in this new growth and my soul sighed and drank in new hope. Nature heals.
